Antonella Clerici, the Italian television personality and chef, has recently opened Casa Clerici, a new culinary school and bed and breakfast located in the heart of Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region. The school not only offers intensive courses on Italian cuisine, but also provides guests with an immersive experience in Italian culture and lifestyle. Antonella Clerici sat down with us to answer a few questions about her passion for cooking and the conception of Casa Clerici.

1. Can you tell us a little bit about your background and how you got started in the culinary industry?

I come from a family of farmers, so cooking and food have always been a part of my life. After studying literature in college, I started my career in journalism, working for a food magazine. I eventually transitioned into television, hosting cooking shows and getting the opportunity to travel the world to learn about different cuisines.

2. What inspired you to create Casa Clerici?

I’ve always wanted to create a place where I can share my love for cooking and Italian culture with others. My love for teaching and sharing knowledge is what inspired me to open Casa Clerici.

3. What can guests expect when they stay at Casa Clerici?

Guests can expect to dive into the authentic Italian lifestyle, where food, culture, and hospitality intertwine. They’ll stay in our beautifully renovated historic property while taking cooking classes with our expert chefs and exploring the vibrant Emilia-Romagna region.

4. Can you tell us about the immersive experience guests will have in Italian culture?

At Casa Clerici, we offer guests a chance to truly live like Italians. They’ll learn about Italian culture through hands-on cooking classes, wine tastings, and local food tours. We also encourage guests to engage with locals and explore the surrounding towns and villages to fully immerse in the Italian way of life.

5. How does Casa Clerici differ from other culinary schools around the world?

Casa Clerici is not just a culinary school; it’s a cultural experience. We offer a unique blend of cooking classes and cultural excursions to give guests a holistic view of Italian culture and cuisine. Our location in the heart of Emilia-Romagna, famous for its food and wine, makes the experience all the more authentic.

6. Do guests need to have prior cooking experience to attend Casa Clerici’s courses?

No prior experience is necessary. Our courses are designed to be accessible to everyone, from beginner cooks to experienced chefs. We want to teach people who are passionate about food and eager to learn about Italian cuisine.

7. What do you hope guests will take away from their experience at Casa Clerici?

We hope that guests will leave Casa Clerici with a deeper appreciation and understanding of Italian culture and cuisine. We also want them to take away practical skills and recipes that they can bring back to their own kitchens and share with family and friends.

8. What is your favorite Italian dish to cook and why?

I love simple Italian cuisine, and my favorite dish to cook is pasta al pomodoro, or spaghetti with tomato sauce. It’s a timeless classic that everyone loves, and it’s also incredibly easy to make.

9. What’s next for Casa Clerici?

We’re always looking to expand and improve our offering. We’re planning to introduce new courses that focus on different aspects of Italian cuisine, from regional specialties to plant-based cooking. We also plan to expand our rooms and welcome more guests to experience the beauty of Casa Clerici.
