Dystopian societies are not only a product of science fiction, but they can also occur in real life. Many countries today are considered to be dystopian or have dystopian elements, such as North Korea, where the government controls every aspect of the citizen's lives, or Saudi Arabia, where women have very limited rights and freedoms.
