Led by Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Vince Young, Texas upset USC 41-38 in what is widely regarded as one of the greatest college football games ever played. The loss didn’t diminish USC’s legacy, however, as the Trojans’ dominance during the early 2000s solidified their place in college football lore.

Today, USC football continues to be a force to be reckoned with in the Pac-12 Conference and on the national stage. The Trojans have made 54 bowl game appearances, tied for the most in NCAA history, and remain a perennial contender for conference and national championships.

The 2021 Trojans are led by head coach Clay Helton, who has guided USC to a 45-23 record over the past five seasons. Helton has helped develop numerous standout players, including quarterback Kedon Slovis and wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, who both earned All-Pac-12 honors last season.
