Born on February 23, 1974, in Catania, Italy, Rita Atria was destined to leave a lasting impact on the struggle for women’s rights.

Rita Atria grew up in a male-dominated environment where traditional gender roles were deeply ingrained. Her father, Vito Atria, was a Mafia boss, and her brothers followed in his footsteps.
