Lasagna is a classic Italian dish, loved by many. what makes so popular is the versatility of ingredients that can be used in it. Although there are various versions of lasagna out there, the beef lasagna is by far my favorite. This dish is a hearty, comforting meal that can be enjoyed any time of year. The following is rich, flavorful, and easy enough to make at home.

Ingredients:

1 pound of ground beef

9 lasagna sheets

1 minced onion

2 minced garlic cloves

2 cans of tomato sauce

2 cups of water

2 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup of grated parmesan cheese

1 tablespoon of olive oil

1 tablespoon of dried basil

1 tablespoon of dried oregano

1 teaspoon of salt

1/2 teaspoon of black pepper

Instructions:

1. Start by preheating your oven to 350°F or 175°C.

2. In a large skillet, heat up the olive oil over medium-high heat. Once the oil is hot, add the minced onion and garlic and sauté until the onions are translucent.

3. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until it’s no longer pink. Once it’s cooked, drain any excess fat.

4. Add the basil, oregano, salt, black pepper, tomato sauce, and water. And mix well. Bring the sauce to a simmer and cook for about 10 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.

5. In a separate pot, cook the lasagna sheets according to the package instructions. Once they are cooked, rinse them with cold water and set them aside.

6. Time to build the layers! In a baking dish, begin by pouring a layer of tomato sauce on the bottom of the dish. Then, add a layer of lasagna noodles on top of the sauce. Add a layer of the meat sauce on top of the noodles, followed by a generous amount of mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Repeat this process, layering the noodles and the sauce until you have used them all.

7. Finally, add a layer of mozzarella cheese on top of the meat sauce. Cover the dish with aluminum foil.

8. Bake the lasagna in the oven for about 25 minutes, then remove the aluminum foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese on top has melted and the lasagna is bubbly and golden brown.

9. Once the lasagna is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool down for about 10 minutes before serving.

Serving Suggestions:

You can serve your beef lasagna with garlic bread or a simple green salad. This dish also pairs well with a glass of red wine or sparkling water.

Conclusion:

Lasagna is an excellent meal for any occasion. The beef lasagna recipe above is not only delicious but easy to follow. With a little effort and a few simple ingredients, you’ll have a mouthwatering meal that will make you glad you decided to make it at home.
