Ingredients:
– 6-8 large granny smith apples
– 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
– 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
– 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg
– 1/2 cup of granulated sugar

Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Peeling, coring and slicing the apples thinly.
3. In a mixing bowl, toss the apple slices with lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
4. In a heavy-bottomed pan over medium heat, melt butter and sauté breadcrumbs until they are crisp and golden brown.
5. On a floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet to a rectangle. Place the puff pastry on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet and brush it with the beaten egg.

11. Remove from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack.
12. Once cool, sprinkle powdered sugar on the top of the strudel.
