Step 1: Gather the Players

Step 2: Shuffle the Cards

The player to the left of the dealer goes first. They place their top card face-up in the center of the circle. The following player places their card on top of the previous card, continuing clockwise around the circle.

At any moment during the game, when two cards of the same rank are placed consecutively, anyone can call “snap” and try to grab the pile of cards in the center. The first person to call “snap” gets a chance to win the entire pile.

To win the pile, the player who called “snap” must place their hand on top of the pile before any other player. If they are successful, they add all the cards in the pile to their own collection. However, if another player’s hand is on top of the pile first, they get to attempt to win the pile next.

If a player mistakenly calls “snap” when the cards do not match, they must give one card from their own collection face-down to the player who placed the card that caused the false snap. The game then resumes with the player who caused the false snap placing their next card.
Step 9: Continue Playing
The game continues with players taking turns placing their cards until one player has collected all the cards. This player is declared the winner of the game.
Step 10: Variation – Stacking
For a more thrilling and challenging version of Snap, players can also stack cards. When a player places a card on top of another card, it creates a “matching sandwich.” In this case, the next player must place two cards on top instead of just one.
