The highly anticipated finale of MasterChef Italia 8 aired on December 21st, 2019, and it did not disappoint. The final three contestants, Benedetta, Erica, and Giusy, battled it out in a series of intense culinary challenges to determine who would become the next MasterChef Italia.

The final episode began with the iconic Mystery Box Challenge, where the chefs had to create a dish using the ingredients found in their box. Each dish was unique and impressive, but it was Giusy who took home the win with her flavorful Mediterranean-style octopus with potatoes and olives.

Next up was the Invention Test, where the chefs had to showcase their creativity by creating a dish inspired by one of the judges’ favorite childhood memories. Benedetta’s dish, inspired by Judge Antonino Cannavacciuolo’s memories of eating with his family, was a delicious rabbit roulade with mixed vegetables. Erica impressed the judges with her pork belly and pear dish, inspired by Judge Joe Bastianich’s memories of eating in Italy. Giusy, inspired by Judge Giorgio Locatelli’s childhood in Italy, created a stunning dish of tuna with artichokes. Ultimately, it was Erica who came out on top with her perfectly executed dish.

The final challenge was the Pressure Test, where the chefs had to create a five-course menu for the judges, comprised of two appetizers, two main courses, and a dessert. The real challenge, however, was that they had only three hours to prepare and execute the entire menu. The pressure was on, and there was no room for mistakes.

Benedetta presented a menu inspired by her travels around Italy, including dishes like a clams and saffron risotto and a lamb saddle with rosemary and potatoes. Erica presented a menu that showcased her fusion of Italian and Asian cuisine, with dishes like a crab and avocado salad and a slow-cooked beef with soy sauce. Giusy’s menu incorporated Mediterranean flavors, with dishes like a seafood soup and stuffed squid with cherry tomatoes.

The judges were blown away by the quality of all three menus, but in the end, it was Erica who was crowned the winner of MasterChef Italia 8. Her dishes were creative, technically perfect, and tasted absolutely delicious. Throughout the competition, Erica demonstrated incredible skill, determination, and passion for cooking, and she definitely earned her title as the next MasterChef Italia.

Overall, it was an incredible season of MasterChef Italia, full of intense challenges, impressive dishes, and heartwarming moments. The contestants showcased their talent and passion, and it was clear that they had all grown and evolved as chefs throughout the competition. Congratulations to Erica, Benedetta, and Giusy for an incredible journey, and we can’t wait to see what they’ll cook up next.
