Born in San Francisco in 1969, Kimberly Guilfoyle’s father worked in construction while her mother was a school teacher. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis, before attending law school at the University of San Francisco.
After completing her studies, Guilfoyle worked as a prosecutor in both San Francisco and Los Angeles. She developed a reputation as a tough, no-nonsense prosecutor who was not afraid to take on challenging cases. During her time as a prosecutor, Guilfoyle also met then-San Francisco Mayor, Gavin Newsom, who would later become her husband.
In 2006, Guilfoyle joined Fox News as a legal analyst, and she quickly a fixture on the network. She provided legal analysis on high-profile cases, such as the trial of Casey Anthony and the Jodi Arias trial. In 2011, she co-hosted “The Five,” a political talk show that brought together a diverse group of commentators to discuss current events.
Guilfoyle’s time at Fox News was not without controversy, however. In 2018, she left the network amid allegations of sexual harassment against former Fox News CEO, Roger Ailes. Guilfoyle denied any wrongdoing, and Ailes passed away before the lawsuit could be resolved.
Despite the controversy, Guilfoyle’s career continued on an upward trajectory. In 2019, she was named as the national chair of the Trump Victory Finance Committee, which was responsible for raising money for the president’s re-election campaign. As a senior adviser for the campaign, Guilfoyle crisscrossed the country, speaking at rallies and fundraisers.
Guilfoyle’s role in the Trump campaign was not without controversy, either. In June 2020, it was reported that Guilfoyle’s former assistant had filed a complaint against her, alleging that she had subjected him to sexual harassment and that she had shown him explicit photos of herself. Guilfoyle denied the allegations, and the assistant later withdrew the complaint.
Despite the controversies that have dogged her career, there is no denying that Kimberly Guilfoyle is a force to be reckoned with. She is a skilled legal analyst and a dynamic political speaker, who has made a name for herself in both fields. With her high profile and extensive experience, it seems likely that Guilfoyle will continue to play a prominent role in American politics and media for years to come.
