Step 1: Accessing Messenger
To get started on unblocking someone, open the Messenger app on your device. Messenger is available for both Android and iOS, so ensure you have the correct app installed.
Step 2: Navigating to Settings
Once you have Messenger open, locate the gear icon labeled “Settings” in the bottom right corner of the screen. Tap on this icon to access the settings for your Messenger app.
Step 3: Selecting “Blocked People”
Within the settings menu, scroll down and find the section labeled “Block”. Tap on it, and you’ll be taken to the “Blocked People” page, which displays all the users you have blocked or who have blocked you.
Step 4: Search for the Blocked User
On the “Blocked People” page, you can see a list of the users you have blocked. Scroll through the list and locate the person you wish to unblock. Alternatively, you can use the search bar at the top to quickly find the user you want to unblock.
Step 5: Unblock the User
Once you’ve found the user you want to unblock, tap on their name to access their profile. Within their profile, you’ll see the option to unblock them. Tap on the “Unblock” button, and a confirmation prompt will appear.
Step 6: Confirm Unblock
After tapping “Unblock,” a confirmation message will pop up, asking if you are sure you want to unblock the user. Confirm your decision by selecting “Unblock” once again.
Step 7: Message and Connect
After successfully unblocking the user, you’ll be taken back to their profile where you can resend messages and re-establish your connection. You can now successfully communicate with the person who previously had you blocked.
It’s important to remember that unblocking someone does not automatically restore your chat history or previous conversations. You will need to reach out to the unblocked person again to resume your communication.
Now that you know how to unblock someone on Messenger who has blocked you, take control of your connections and maintain open lines of communication with those who matter to you. Unblock and reconnect!
