1. Nutritional Yeast
Nutritional yeast is an excellent alternative to brewer’s yeast. It is a deactivated yeast made from sugarcane and beet molasses. If you have instant yeast in your pantry, it can also be used as a substitute for brewer’s yeast. However, instant yeast has a higher concentration, so use half the amount of instant yeast than the recipe calls for brewer’s yeast. For example, if the recipe requires one teaspoon of brewer’s yeast, use only 1/2 teaspoon of instant yeast.
