What You Will Need
- A clean duvet cover
- Your comforter
- Flat surface (bed, table, or floor)
- A few safety pins or duvet clips (optional)
Step 1: Turn Your Duvet Cover Inside Out
The first step is to turn your duvet cover inside out. By doing this, you’ll be able to easily access the corners and ensure a proper fit for your comforter.
Step 2: Lay Your Duvet Cover Flat
Lay your duvet cover flat on the bed, table, or floor. Make sure it is spread evenly with the opening facing towards you.
Step 3: Place Your Comforter on Top
Take your comforter and place it on top of the duvet cover. Align the corners and edges as much as possible. Smooth out any wrinkles or creases.
Step 4: Start Rolling
Beginning from the closed end of the duvet cover, start tightly rolling both the comforter and the duvet cover together towards the open end.
Step 5: Reach Inside and Grab the Corners
Once you’ve reached the open end, reach inside the duvet cover and grab the corners of the comforter and duvet cover together. Pull them out to invert the duvet cover back to its original position, still holding onto the corners.
Step 6: Shake and Adjust
Give the duvet cover a few good shakes to help it fall into place. Once it has settled, adjust the corners and edges so they match up nicely.
Step 7: Secure the Opening
If desired, you can secure the opening of the duvet cover using safety pins or duvet clips. This will prevent the comforter from shifting or coming out of place during the night.
Step 8: Enjoy Your Newly Covered Comforter
Voila! You have successfully put a comforter in a duvet cover all by yourself. Now you can enjoy the fresh look and added comfort that a duvet cover brings to your bedding.
Putting a comforter in a duvet cover doesn’t have to be a daunting task anymore. By following these simple steps, you can easily accomplish this task on your own, saving both time and effort.
