What do you need?
Before we get started, let’s make sure you have all the necessary materials:
- 3 iron blocks
- 4 iron ingots
Step 1: Collecting Iron Ore
The first step is to collect iron ore. Iron ore can be found deep within caves or obtained by mining iron blocks located in villages. Once you have gathered enough iron ore, smelt it in a furnace to obtain iron ingots.
Step 2: Crafting Iron Blocks
Next, you will need to craft iron blocks using the iron ingots you obtained. To create an iron block, arrange 9 iron ingots in a 3×3 crafting grid. Once you have 3 iron blocks, proceed to the next step.
Step 3: Crafting the Anvil
Now that you have your iron blocks ready, it’s time to craft the anvil. Place the 3 iron blocks in the top row and the 4 iron ingots in the middle row, leaving the bottom row empty. You should see the anvil appear in the result box. Drag it into your inventory to complete the process.
Using the Anvil
Now that you have your anvil, you can use it for various tasks in Minecraft.
To repair an item, simply place it in the left slot of the anvil interface and the required materials (usually another similar item) in the right slot. The repaired item will appear in the output slot.
If you want to rename an item, place it in the left slot and use the keyboard to enter the desired name in the text box provided. The renamed item will appear in the output slot.
Additionally, the anvil allows you to combine enchantments from different items. Place one enchanted item in the left slot and the second item with the desired enchantment in the right slot. The resulting item will have both enchantments combined.
Remember that each anvil has a limited number of uses. Once it breaks, you will need to craft a new one using the same steps we covered in this guide.
That’s it! You now have the knowledge to make an anvil in Minecraft and unleash your creativity by repairing, renaming, and combining enchantments on your items. Have fun exploring the endless possibilities!
