Gather Your Materials
Before you begin, gather the following materials:
- Wire crown base
- Floral tape
- Assorted flowers
- Greenery
- Scissors
Prepare Your Flowers and Greenery
Start by processing the flowers and greenery. Cut the stems at an angle, removing any thorns or leaves that will be below the crown base. Place the flowers and greenery in water to keep them fresh while you work.
Create the Base
Take the wire crown base and measure it around the child’s head. Leave some extra wire at the ends for adjusting and securing the crown. Twist the ends together to form a circle.
Attach the Greenery
Begin by attaching the greenery to the wire base. Take a small stem of greenery and wrap floral tape around the base of the stem, securing it to the wire crown. Repeat this step, overlapping the greenery slightly, until the entire wire base is covered.
Add the Flowers
Now it’s time to add the flowers. Select a flower and cut the stem to about two inches in length. Insert the stem into the wire base and wrap floral tape tightly around the stem to secure it. Continue adding flowers, alternating types and colors, until you are satisfied with the arrangement.
Secure and Adjust
Once all the flowers are added, go around the crown and secure any loose stems with additional floral tape. Adjust the flowers and greenery as needed, making sure they are evenly distributed and well-balanced.
Final Touches
Inspect the flower crown and make any final adjustments. Trim any excess stems or foliage that may distract from the overall look. Ensure that the crown fits comfortably on the child’s head and sits securely in place.
