What You’ll Need:
To load the Mavic Air remote control, you’ll require the following items:
- Mavic Air drone
- Mavic Air remote control
- USB cable (included with the Mavic Air package)
- Mobile device
- Mavic Air remote control charger
- Internet connection
Step 1: Powering On the Remote Control
The first step in loading your Mavic Air remote control is powering it on. To do this, locate the power button on the controller and press and hold it until the LED indicators light up. Now you’re ready to move on to the next step.
Step 2: Connecting your Mobile Device
To connect your mobile device to the remote control, you’ll need to use a USB cable. Insert one end of the cable into the charging port located on the bottom of the remote control. Take the other end of the cable, and depending on your device, connect it to the appropriate port (Micro USB, USB-C, or Lightning) on your mobile device.
Step 3: Launch the DJI Fly App
Once your mobile device is connected, it’s time to launch the DJI Fly app. If you haven’t downloaded the app already, head over to your device’s app store and search for “DJI Fly.” Download and install the app onto your device. Once installed, tap the DJI Fly app icon to launch it.
Step 4: Connection and Firmware Update
After launching the app, tap on the “Drone” icon to enter the Drone settings menu. From there, tap on the “Remote Controller” option and then select “Linking Remote Controller.” Follow the on-screen instructions to establish a connection between your mobile device and the remote control.
If a firmware update is available for your remote control, you’ll be prompted to download and install it. It’s crucial to keep your firmware up to date for optimal performance and compatibility.
Step 5: Calibration
Once the connection is established, it’s time to calibrate the remote control. This step ensures that the control sticks respond accurately to your inputs. Head to the “Remote Controller” settings within the DJI Fly app and select the “Stick Calibration” option. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the calibration process.
Step 6: Final Checks and Takeoff
After the calibration is complete, make sure to check all the settings within the DJI Fly app. Verify that the remote control and aircraft are linked, and that GPS, flight modes, and other settings are configured to your preferences.
At this point, your remote control is loaded and ready for takeoff. Make sure to follow all safety guidelines, laws, and regulations while enjoying your flight experience with the Mavic Air drone.
Happy flying!
