Materials needed
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Drawing paper
- Markers or colored pencils (optional)
Step 1: Draw basic shapes
Start by drawing an oval shape for the frog’s body. Then, add two smaller circles above the oval for the eyes. Leave some space between the eyes to draw the frog’s mouth later on.
Step 2: Add the frog’s face details
Inside the circles, draw two smaller circles for the pupils. Add a curved line above each eye to give the frog an eyebrow-like feature. Now, draw a curved line below the eyes to create the frog’s smile. Feel free to make it as wide and happy as you like!
Step 3: Draw the frog’s legs
Draw two slightly curved lines descending from the frog’s body, representing the front legs. At the bottom, add feet with small curved lines. Repeat the same process to draw the hind legs, making them a bit longer than the front legs.
Step 4: Add details and texture
To make our frog look more realistic, add some texture to its body. Draw small, curved lines along its back to represent the frog’s warty skin. Add a few lines on the hind legs as well.
Step 5: Color your frog
Now comes the fun part! Use your markers or colored pencils to bring your frog to life. Frogs can be green, but they also come in many other colors, so feel free to get creative with your color choices. You can color the body and the eyes differently to make them stand out.
Congratulations! You have successfully learned how to draw a cute frog easily. Drawing animals can be a rewarding and enjoyable way for kids to express themselves artistically. With practice, they can improve their drawing skills and even create their own unique frog characters. So, grab some paper and pencils, and let your kids explore the world of drawing!
