Step 1: Launch Messenger
The first step is to open the Messenger app on your device. Locate the app icon and tap on it to launch Messenger.
Step 2: Access Settings
Once you’re inside Messenger, look for the “Settings” menu. It is usually represented by a gear or cogwheel icon. Tap on it to access the Settings menu.
Step 3: Find “Search History”
Scroll through the Settings menu until you find the “Search History” option. Tap on it to open the search history settings.
Step 4: Clear Search History
Inside the Search History settings, you will see a list of your recent Messenger searches. To delete all of them at once, look for the “Clear All” button. Tap on it to clear your search history.
Step 5: Confirm Deletion
A prompt will appear asking you to confirm the deletion of your search history. If you’re sure you want to proceed, tap on the “Confirm” button to delete all recent Messenger searches.
Step 6: Verify Deletion
After confirming the deletion, you can double-check if your recent Messenger searches have indeed been cleared. Go back to the main Messenger screen and tap on the search bar. Your search history should be empty now.
Additional Tips
- If you only want to remove specific searches, you can tap on the X or “Remove” button next to each search entry in the Search History settings.
- Clearing your Messenger search history is device-specific. If you use Messenger on multiple devices, you will need to repeat these steps on each device.
- Remember that clearing your search history only removes it from your own device. It does not affect the search history of other users or devices.
