Step 1: Sign in to your Gmail account
The first step is to sign in to your Gmail account. If you don’t have an account yet, you can quickly create one by going to https://accounts.google.com/signup.
Step 2: Access Google Contacts
Once you’re signed in, locate the “Google Apps” icon in the top right corner of the Gmail interface (it’s a square grid icon). Click on it and select “Contacts” from the dropdown menu.
Step 3: Create a label for your mailing list
In the left sidebar of the Google Contacts page, you will see a “Labels” section. Click on the “+ Create Label” button to create a new label for your mailing list. Give it a relevant name so that you can easily identify it.
Step 4: Add contacts to your mailing list
Now it’s time to add contacts to your mailing list. Go through your existing contacts or import contacts from other platforms such as Excel or CSV files. To add a contact manually, click on the red “+ Create Contact” button in the top left corner of the Google Contacts page.
Step 5: Organize your mailing list
To keep your mailing list well-organized, you can create groups within your label. This allows you to easily send targeted emails to specific segments of your list. From the left sidebar, select your label, and click on the “New group” button to create a new group. Give it a name and start adding contacts to the group.
Step 6: Compose and send emails to your mailing list
Now that your mailing list is ready, it’s time to start composing and sending emails. In the Gmail interface, click on the “Compose” button to create a new email. In the “To” field, start typing the name of your label or a specific group within the label, and Gmail will suggest the corresponding contacts. Select the desired contacts and proceed with composing your email.
Step 7: Manage and update your mailing list
As your mailing list grows, it’s important to regularly manage and update it. Make sure to remove any invalid or inactive emails to maintain a healthy list. You can do this by going back to Google Contacts and removing the respective contacts or groups.
By following these step-by-step instructions, you can easily create a mailing list using Gmail. Whether you want to send newsletters, promotions, or updates to your subscribers, a well-organized mailing list can be a valuable asset for your business or personal use.
