Prerequisites:
- A WiFi-enabled Roomba robot vacuum
- An Amazon Alexa device (Echo, Echo Dot, etc.)
- The latest versions of the iRobot Home app and Amazon Alexa app installed on your smartphone
Step 1: Prepare your Roomba
Make sure your Roomba is connected to your home WiFi network and that it is powered on. You should also check for any available firmware updates for your Roomba to ensure compatibility with Alexa.
Step 2: Set up your Alexa device
If you haven’t already, follow the manufacturer’s instructions to set up your Amazon Alexa device and connect it to your home WiFi network. Make sure it is working correctly before proceeding to the next step.
Step 3: Install the iRobot Home and Amazon Alexa apps
Open your smartphone’s app store and search for the “iRobot Home” and “Amazon Alexa” apps. Download and install these apps on your device if you haven’t already.
Step 4: Enable Roomba skill in Alexa

- Tap on the menu icon in the top-left corner.
- Select “Skills & Games” from the menu.

Once your Roomba is connected to Alexa, you can start controlling it with voice commands. For example, you can say “Alexa, ask Roomba to start cleaning.” Alexa will send the command to your Roomba, and it will start cleaning as instructed.
