Step 1 – Clear your browser’s cache:
The most common way to clean a PC cache is by the cache of your web browser. Every time you visit a website, your browser stores data, including images, scripts, and stylesheets, in a temporary cache folder. This folder can easily become overburdened, causing your browser to slow down.
To the cache of your browser, open it and go into the settings menu. Next, navigate to the “History” tab, and you should see an option to clear your browsing data. Select this option, and make sure to check the box next to “Cached images and files.” You can then click “Clear data” to remove the cache.
Step 2 – Use a system optimization tool:
Another way to clear the cache of your PC is to use a system optimization tool. There are many such tools available online, and they are designed to help you free up space on your hard drive and speed up your computer’s performance.
One of the best optimization tools available today is CCleaner. This software is easy to use and can clean up your computer’s cache, history, cookies, and temporary files with just a few clicks. Simply download and install CCleaner, run a scan, and then select the files you want to delete. Be sure to review the list of files before deleting anything, so you don’t delete something you need.
Step 3 – Clear the Windows store cache:
If you frequently use the Windows Store, which is a built-in app store for Windows 10, you may need to clear the cache from time to time. This cache can cause errors and slow down the performance of the store.
To clear the Windows Store cache, open the “Run” dialog box by pressing the “Windows + R” keys on your keyboard. Type in “wsreset.exe” (without quotes) and hit Enter. A blank window will appear for a few moments, and then the Windows Store will open automatically. This process clears the cache of the store.
Step 4 – Manually delete cache files:
If you have advanced computer knowledge, you can also manually delete your cache files. This method is not recommended for beginners, as it requires navigating through your computer’s file system and deleting specific files. However, it is a good way to clear out any cache that you may have missed using the other methods.
To delete cache files manually, first, close any open programs. Next, open the “Run” dialog box by pressing the “Windows + R” keys on your keyboard. Type in “%temp%” (without quotes) and hit Enter. This will open your computer’s temporary files folder. Find the cache files you want to delete, and then select them. You can then right-click on them and choose “Delete” or press the “Delete” key on your keyboard.
By following these simple steps, you can clean the cache of your PC and enjoy a faster, more efficient computer. Whether you choose to clear your browser’s cache or use a system optimization tool, it’s important to clean your cache regularly to keep your computer running at its best.
