Materials
Before you get started, gather the following materials:
- A small piece of cardboard
- A pencil
- A pair of scissors
- A black marker
- A hot glue gun
- A popsicle stick
- A sheet of green felt
- A ruler
- A knife (parental supervision required for younger crafters)
Step 1: Drawing the Nose Shape
Using the cardboard, draw the shape of the witch’s nose you desire. Do you want a hooked nose or a long, crooked one? Feel free to get creative! Once you have the shape you want, cut it out using scissors.
Step 2: Adding Details
With the black marker, add some creases and wrinkles to your cardboard nose to make it look more realistic. Emphasize the curves and contours to give it character.
Step 3: Attaching the Popsicle Stick
Take your popsicle stick and apply hot glue to one side. Press it firmly onto the backside of the cardboard nose, leaving about half of it exposed below the nose.
Step 4: Covering the Nose with Felt
Place your cardboard nose on the green felt and trace around it with a pencil. Cut out the felt shape and use the hot glue gun to attach it to the front of the cardboard nose. Make sure to press firmly and smooth out any wrinkles or bumps as you go along.
Step 5: Shaping the Nose
Using the ruler and the knife (with parental supervision), gently bend the popsicle stick to create a curve in the nose. Take your time and make small adjustments until you are satisfied with the shape.
Step 6: Final Touches
Once the nose has dried, you can further embellish it by adding decorative elements. Consider accentuating the nostrils with small beads or attaching tiny stars or glitter to make it sparkle. Let your imagination run wild!
Now that you have your own homemade witch’s nose, you can easily complete your enchanting costume. Pair it with a pointy hat, a flowing cloak, and a broomstick to become the ultimate witch for Halloween or any costume event. Enjoy making your magical transformation!
