Materials you’ll need:
- A sturdy cardboard box
- Colorful construction paper
- Scissors
- Glue stick
- Markers or crayons
- A ruler
- Pencil
- A printout of our ‘Sapientino’ template (link provided)
Step 1: Prepare the box
Start by selecting a sturdy cardboard box that will serve as the main body of your ‘Sapientino.’ Remove any unnecessary flaps or openings and ensure it’s clean and dry.
Step 2: Measure and cut the construction paper
Measure the sides of the box and cut colorful construction paper to match each side. Use the ruler to ensure straight lines and the scissors to cut the paper accordingly. Apply glue to the back of each paper and stick them onto the respective sides of the box.
Step 3: Create the game board
Download and print out our ‘Sapientino’ template, which includes a pre-designed game board. Cut out the game board and glue it to the inside bottom of the box. Make sure it fits perfectly and lies flat.
Step 4: Decorate the box
Let your creativity shine! Use markers or crayons to decorate the exterior of the box. You can draw colorful shapes, numbers, or even create a themed design that aligns with your child’s interests.
Step 5: Cut out game pieces
The ‘Sapientino’ game involves game pieces that need to be cut out from the template. Carefully cut out the pieces using scissors. You can also color them if you want to add some extra flair.
Step 6: Play and engage
Now that your ‘Sapientino’ is complete, it’s time to play and engage with your child! Use the game board and game pieces to explore different educational activities, such as counting, matching colors, or solving puzzles. Encourage your child’s curiosity and provide positive reinforcement throughout the playtime.
Building your own ‘Sapientino’ not only provides an entertaining activity but also stimulates your child’s cognitive development. By incorporating educational elements and fostering a playful learning environment, you’re helping your child grow and learn. Enjoy this memorable experience with your little one!
