Step 1: Open the Network & Internet Settings
To begin, open the Network & Internet Settings by following these steps:
- Click on the Start Menu button located in the bottom-left corner of the screen.
- Select the Settings gear icon, which resembles a small gear.
- In the Settings window, click on the “Network & Internet” option.
Step 2: Access the WiFi Settings
After opening the Network & Internet settings, navigate to the WiFi settings by doing the following:
- In the left sidebar, click on the “WiFi” option.
Step 3: Enable WiFi
Once you are in the WiFi settings, it’s time to enable WiFi on your Windows 10 device:
- Toggle the WiFi switch to the “On” position.
Step 4: Connect to a WiFi Network
Now that WiFi is enabled, you can connect to an available network:
- Click on the available network you want to connect to.
- If required, enter the network’s password.
- Click the “Connect” button to establish the connection.
Step 5: Confirm Connection
After successfully connecting to a WiFi network, you will receive a confirmation notification:
- A notification will appear in the bottom-right corner of the screen, confirming the connection.
- If you encounter any issues, make sure you have entered the correct password or troubleshoot your network adapter.
Step 6: Manage WiFi Network Settings (Optional)
If you wish to further manage your WiFi network settings, Windows 10 offers additional options:
- Click on the “Properties” button to configure advanced settings for the WiFi network.
- You can change the network name, security type, IP settings, and much more.
Step 7: Disconnect from a WiFi Network (Optional)
When you no longer wish to be connected to a specific network, follow these steps:
- Click on the WiFi icon located in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
- Select the network you want to disconnect from.
- Click on the “Disconnect” button.
By following these simple steps, you can easily activate WiFi on your Windows 10 device and enjoy wireless internet connectivity.
NOTE: Make sure your device has a supported WiFi adapter to connect to wireless networks. Some older devices may require an external WiFi adapter to be connected to access WiFi networks.
