Don Bosco Children’s Center is a home for children who have no homes or are taken away from their families due to different circumstances. One day, I had the privilege of visiting the center, and I had the chance to meet a very special person – a grandma to the children residing there.

The grandma’s name is Tita. She is a short, stout woman with a jolly personality. Despite her age, she is always ready to lend a helping hand to the children, whether it’s someone who needs a hug or a listening ear. She is one of the volunteers in Don Bosco, and it’s not hard to see why the children love her so much.

Tita has been volunteering at Don Bosco for over ten years now. Her husband passed away, and her own children had grown up and moved away, leaving her with an immense amount of free time. She wanted to do something to help other people and stumbled upon Don Bosco Children’s Center. She started as a volunteer, doing simple tasks like washing dishes and cleaning the house. Eventually, she began interacting with the children and realized how much they needed love and attention.

Tita treats the children like they are her own grandkids. She always brings them snacks and toys, and she doesn’t hesitate to discipline them if needed. Every child in the center knows they can count on her for anything. And when she tells them a story, they listen with rapt attention.

During my visit, I saw firsthand how much Tita cared for the children. As soon as she saw me, she greeted me with a warm smile and introduced me to the kids. They all crowded around us, eager to talk and show off their skills and talents. It was heartwarming to see how they all interacted, as if they were one big family.

Tita’s role in Don Bosco goes beyond just being a volunteer. She acts as a mentor and a role model to the children. They look up to her and follow her every word. She has taught them about basic manners, hygiene, and values. Watching her interact with the children, you can see how much joy this brings her. She says that volunteering at Don Bosco has given her life a new purpose, and she couldn’t be happier.

Tita also helps out with the education of the children in Don Bosco. The center has a school inside where the children can learn and grow. Tita, being a retired teacher, assists the staff in teaching and tutoring the children. She uses her knowledge and expertise to make sure the children receive quality education.

Towards the end of my visit, Tita told me how much the children have impacted her life. She said that volunteering at Don Bosco has given her a new sense of purpose, and she feels like she’s making a difference in the world. She also said that being around the children made her feel young again, and that seeing them grow and improve was a reward in itself.

In conclusion, Tita is an incredible person who has devoted her life to volunteering at Don Bosco Children’s Center. She has touched the lives of countless children, and her legacy will live on through them. Her warmth, kindness, and love are the reasons why the children and staff at Don Bosco hold her in such high regard. Tita is proof that one person can make a significant impact in the world, and I am grateful to have had the chance to meet her.
