1. We do not choose a restaurant based on the ambiance
In the past, when we used to visit restaurants, one of the common factors that influenced our choice was the ambiance. Whether we wanted to dine in an outdoor or indoor setting was a major, often-decisive factor. However, today, things are quite different. When we dine at restaurants, our first concern is about our safety and the safety of others us. We now prefer an environment with less risk of contracting the virus.
2. We do not hug or shake hands with the staff
Before COVID-19, it was common to exchange greetings with staff, such as hugging or shaking hands. But today, the risk is too high; therefore, professional greetings such as bowing, waving or verbal greetings are the new normal.
3. We do not share menus
In the past, sharing menus at restaurants among customers was common. In the post-coronavirus era, however, sharing menus is a thing of the past. Many restaurants now have options for QR code menus on customers’ smartphones.
4. We do not dine in large groups
Dining in large groups was once a popular trend. However, those days seem to be temporarily over. Considering the need for social distancing, many restaurants now have set a maximum capacity limit. This limit varies from restaurant to restaurant and depends on the compliance of each restaurant with regulations.
5. We do not wait for tables indoors
Waiting for a table inside the restaurant with a waiting area full of people used to be a normal part of dining out. However, with the need for social distancing, waiting inside is not an option anymore. Restaurants are now steering their customers to wait outside instead.

6. We do not visit the restaurants without masks
Masks are the new normal. Everywhere we go, we must wear masks, regardless of whether we are at a store, gas station, or restaurant. Entering a restaurant without a mask is a serious violation of safety regulations.
In conclusion, the pandemic has changed our way of life dramatically. The restaurant industry has been one of the hardest-hit industries during the pandemic. However, we are adapting to restrictions to keep ourselves and others healthy. For now, by adhering to these new norms, we can ensure a safe and healthy dining experience.
