Materials You’ll Need
- Popsicle sticks
- Cardboard
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
- Craft paint
- Paintbrush
Step 1: Prepare the Base
Start by cutting a small square out of the cardboard to serve as the base of your windmill. It should be large enough to hold the structure securely in place.
Step 2: Construct the Frame
Take popsicle sticks and arrange them into a square shape. Use hot glue to secure the corners and reinforce the structure. Repeat this process to create another square of the same size.
Step 3: Build the Blades
Using popsicle sticks, create four long and narrow blades for your windmill. Attach them to one of the squares, positioning them diagonally across the frame. Secure them with hot glue.
Step 4: Create the Tail
Take a popsicle stick and cut it in half. Glue the two halves together in an “L” shape to create the tail. Attach it to the back of the windmill frame using hot glue.
Step 5: Add Details
Paint the windmill frame and blades with your desired colors. You can go for a traditional red and white combination or get creative with different shades. Allow the paint to dry thoroughly.
Step 6: Attach the Windmill to the Base
Apply a generous amount of hot glue to one of the squares and press it onto the cardboard base. Make sure it is centered and secure before moving on to the next step.
