Step 1:
Launch WhatsApp by tapping on its icon on your phone’s home screen.
Step 2:
Once WhatsApp is open, go to the chats tab by tapping on the speech bubble icon at the bottom of the screen.
Step 3:
In the chats tab, search for the conversation with the contact you want to delete. You can either scroll through your chats or use the search bar at the top to find the conversation quickly.
Step 4:
Once you have found the conversation you want to delete, long-press on it. This action will select the conversation and reveal additional options at the top of the screen.
Step 5:
With the conversation selected, tap on the trash can icon at the top of the screen. A confirmation message will appear, asking if you want to delete the chat. Select ‘Delete’ to proceed.
Step 6:
Congratulations! You have successfully deleted the contact from your WhatsApp list. The conversation and the contact’s number will no longer appear in your chats tab.
Note:
Deleting a contact on WhatsApp will not remove them from your phone’s contacts. It will only remove the conversation and their presence within WhatsApp.
-
If you still wish to keep the person’s number but don’t want them to see your profile picture or status, you can block them instead of deleting the contact. To do this, visit the contact’s profile within WhatsApp, tap the menu (three dots) at the top-right corner, and select ‘Block’.
-
You can always unblock a contact by following the same steps and selecting ‘Unblock’ instead of ‘Block’.
-
Be cautious when deleting conversations on WhatsApp, as there is no way to recover them once they are deleted.
We hope this step-by-step guide has been helpful in showing you how to delete a contact on WhatsApp that is not saved in your phone’s contacts. Keep your WhatsApp list clean and clutter-free by getting rid of unwanted conversations easily!
