Another London bar that’s caught our eye this year is Swift, which opened in Soho in the spring. This stylish venue is split into two floors, with a ground floor bar for a quick drink, and a downstairs lounge for a more relaxed experience. The drinks list is impressive, with classic cocktails alongside more experimental creations. The bar snacks are also worth mentioning – try the oyster or the chicken liver parfait.
If you’re a fan of gin, then you won’t want to miss The Grand Duchess in Manchester. This bar opened in August in a converted barge on the Rochdale Canal, and it’s quickly become a popular spot for gin-lovers. The interior is cosy and intimate, with wooden panelling and soft lighting. The drinks list is extensive, with over 60 different types of gin on offer, along with some delicious sounding gin cocktails.
For a true taste of luxury, head to The Connaught Bar in London’s Mayfair district. This elegant bar was recently named “World’s Best Bar” at the World’s 50 Best Bars awards, and it’s easy to see why. The drinks menu is designed by award-winning mixologist Agostino Perrone, and features some truly innovative creations. The bar itself is stunning, with a chic art deco feel and impeccable service.
Finally, we have Galvin at Windows in London’s Hilton on Park Lane. This bar is located on the 28th floor, and the views over the city skyline are simply breathtaking. The drinks list is impressive, with a focus on champagne and cocktails. The bar also serves food, with a menu created by Michelin-starred chef Chris Galvin. If you want to treat yourself to a truly special experience, this is the place to do it.
